Lorena Pestana comenzó su acercamiento a la joyería durante una larga permanencia en la zona de Santa María de Nieva, en el Alto Marañón. Allí pudo investigar a fondo las técnicas y tradiciones artesanales del pueblo aguaruna, quizás la etnía más importante de la Amazonía peruana.
Lorena Pestana began her approach to jewelry during a long stay in the Santa María de Nieva area, in Alto Marañón. There she was able to thoroughly investigate the artisan techniques and traditions of the Aguaruna people, perhaps the most important ethnic group in the Peruvian Amazon.
